Rainy Spring Wedding at Stonegate Glass Chapel | Anna & Joseph
Anna & Joseph were married at Stonegate Glass Chapel on April 4, 2025—right in the middle of a spring downpour. But what could’ve been a stressful situation turned out to be nothing short of magical. From the way the rain softened the light in the chapel to the cozy garden-party reception that followed, their day was full of warmth, love, and intentional details that brought their vision to life.
Captured by Katie Opris Photography, the photos are proof that even the rainiest days can make for some of the most beautiful memories.
Getting Ready Moments
The day began with the sound of steady rain, but that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. Anna and her bridal party got ready in our upstairs suite, with soft natural light and a calming view of the trees outside the windows. Downstairs, Joseph and his groomsmen stayed relaxed and upbeat as the excitement of the day built. There was something especially peaceful about the way the rain wrapped around the chapel—it added the perfect cozy vibe to those quiet pre-ceremony moments.
The Ceremony
The chapel absolutely glowed during Anna & Joseph’s ceremony. All that natural light reflecting off the rain made the space feel calm, peaceful, and almost storybook-like. The couple exchanged vows surrounded by soft florals and close family and friends—and even with the rain still coming down, it felt like the whole world had paused just for them.
The Details
Their color palette of soft pink, white, and fresh greenery gave everything a clean, elegant feel—perfect for spring. Anna wanted their reception to feel like an indoor garden party, and the details did not disappoint: a massive charcuterie spread, an assorted cake table, a cozy coffee cart, and even a caricature artist to entertain guests throughout the evening. Every piece was designed with guest experience in mind—and it made the whole celebration feel warm, joyful, and full of personality.
Portraits Around the Grounds
Because of the rain, most portraits took place under the chapel’s awning or indoors—but the soft, even light made everything glow. There’s something timeless about a rainy-day wedding, and Anna & Joseph leaned into it in the best way. The photos feel romantic, calm, and full of connection—no umbrellas needed.
Reception Highlights
Their garden-party vision continued inside the reception space, where guests mingled, laughed, and enjoyed an evening that was equal parts relaxed and refined. The coffee cart was a huge hit, the caricature artist kept everyone smiling, and the entire atmosphere felt like a warm, joyful celebration of the couple’s love. To end the night, Anna & Joseph chose a streamer send-off at the top of the hill between the chapel and reception space—a favorite of ours for its charm and simplicity (and let’s be honest—it always looks so cute in photos).
Anna & Joseph’s wedding was a perfect reminder that sometimes the unexpected makes the day even more memorable. Rain or shine, love always finds a way to make things beautiful—and their day was no exception.
